What does my INDIGO Personal Coaching program offer?
Through the INDIGO Intensive personal coaching program, I’ll guide you through 6 personalized core steps to create a healthy lifestyle without struggle or overwhelm. The following steps exist as a framework in which your unique challenges, interests, and needs will drive your experience.
Step 1
Food Matters
Are you what you eat?
Are you totally overwhelmed by the many fad diets available today, by everyone on the internet telling you what to eat or that you can lose weight if you only eat like they do? Together, we’ll take the time to slow down and really look at not only what you eat, but how and why and when. You can rest assured that with this knowledge and time, you can once and for all learn how to listen to and trust your body to tell you what it needs. We will dive deep into your body as a laboratory.
In this step you will:
- Explore mindful eating
- Learn to use intermittent fasting as a healing tool
- Learn to cut out added sugars and processed foods
- Identify your biggest food pain
- Learn what to eat for menopausal symptoms
- Determine the first step towards creating change and eating intuitively
- Consider your water intake and the importance of being hydrated
Tools you’ll receive:
A guide to the power of a whole foods diet and natural weight loss, and a water protocol including how much to drink and when
Step 2
Food for Your Body Type
Food for Your Body Type
According to Ayurvedic science, there are three main body types or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. In this step you will learn what your type is and then begin to slowly adopt changes to your food choice and possibly even lifestyle that serve to better support your digestion and overall well-being. We’ll also discuss the importance of fiber, protein and fat, especially as our bodies change before, during and after menopause. Armed with knowledge of your body type and its corresponding weight loss protocol, you will begin to notice your clothes are fitting looser and you feel like you have more energy during the day. A happy gut is a happy you!
In this step you will:
- Learn your body type
- Track your fiber
- Incorporate your Dosha’s weight loss protocol into your daily life
Tools you’ll receive:
A body type quiz, your weight loss protocol, and meal ideas that help you incorporate more fiber, protein and fat while feeding your dosha
Step 3
Change Your Mind
How to be friends with your mind
Our thoughts carry an amazing amount of power and have the ability to grow or destroy our lives. For anyone who has spent time in meditation, or perhaps thinks they cannot stop their thoughts long enough to meditate knows, it’s a choice ~ we can be friends or enemies with our minds. We are also capable of changing our minds, not simply what our preferences are, or what we want for dinner, but literally rewire our brains by forming new pathways and by interrupting our reactions with new, less destructive ones. Thoughts create emotions and emotions create action and all thought, emotion, and action carry energy. Our limiting beliefs vibrate at low energies like fear and shame, but by changing those beliefs to new ones, positive emotion, and conscious action, we can ultimately raise our energy, and raise our lives.
In this step you will:
- Understand the connection between gut health and brain health and cravings
- Learn about mindful eating
- Consider your limiting beliefs and re-write the ones that no longer serve you
- Learn how to use havening tools to heal your body and regulate your central nervous system
- Learn about the energy body and the 7 major chakras
Tools you’ll receive:
Tips for better digestion, including food choice and lifestyle, a guide to re-writing limiting beliefs, and an overview of the chakras with a quick and powerful tool for balancing them, and havening tools
Step 4
Your Body, Your Ally
How to start healing yourself holistically
Are you wondering how you got to where you are today? Are you feeling confused about which way to go, or where to start? When most women enter menopause it comes with years of habit-forming thoughts and behaviors, repeated unconscious patterns in our lives, sudden weight gain, moodswings, and can serve as a wake-up call to how we are living our lives. I like to think of it as a gift from the universe to do just that, to start over and better, rather than allow it to be our natural “end” as society has determined it to be.
In this step you will:
- Understand what happens to your body during menopause and why moving it is so important
- Learn about the best time of day to exercise
- Learn about the best type of exercise for your menopausal body
- Learn how to do central channel breathing and incorporate the practice into your daily life to support your weight loss or maintenance goals
- Uncover your biggest challenge to getting regular exercise or discover what you most enjoy doing for movement, and
- Learn to pay attention to your body instead of listening to what the scale says every day
Tools you’ll receive:
A practical guide to menopause and hormones, suggestions for minimizing your risks for osteoporosis, tips for finding movement in the day to day, a video guide to central channel breathing, and exercise ideas like jumping rope again!
Step 5
Sleep and Rejuvenation
Can you receive as much as you give?
Are you someone who wakes up feeling just as tired as you did when you went to bed? Whether or not we feel rested in the morning is influenced by so many factors starting the moment we wake up. When you engage in restful activity, you’re doing something that feeds your soul and soothes your mind and body. Rest is not merely sleep, but the ways in which we receive and restore. Are you able to receive as much as you give?
In this step you will:
- Gain simple techniques to design your own sleep routine setting you up to feel rested the next day
- Understand how stress affects weight and weight gain
- Prioritize your self-care and the ways in which you feel rejuvenated
- Consider what can be eliminated or delegated from your to-do-list
- Learn how to create healthy boundaries and why self-care isn’t selfish, but self-less
Tools you’ll receive:
Self-Care Tools, tips for sleep hygiene, and my top tips for insomnia
Step 6
Your Life, Your Purpose
That’s me in the middle with my yoga tribe in Belize!
Discovering and then being who you are is very much a matter of the heart. Especially in our Western, modern day society we have the tendency to, overly so, live in our heads. We think our power center resides in the mind and wrongly live out our days thinking we have everything under control, accordingly. We are so much more than our minds and our thoughts, but once you realize the power of your thoughts and that they will run the show until you make a different choice, there is no turning back. According to Carolyn Myss, in “The Anatomy of the Spirit” the question, “what about me?” is an invocation drawing to ourselves years of repressed, but well-recorded emotional data that, in an instant, can determine a new path for ourselves. We may attempt to run back into the protection of the tribal mind, but its capacity to comfort us is now gone. We begin the formidable task of getting to know ourselves by discovering our true nature – not in relation to anyone or anything else, but in relation to ourselves alone.”
In this step you will:
- Discover your true passion and strengthen your personal power
- Write your personal vision statement
- Determine your next step to creating your life of purpose
- Say “no” to society’s limitations and learn to howl at the moon instead!
Tools you’ll receive:
